My little Max will be 2 next month! It's hard to believe, but the time has flown by and now he is turning into such a little boy...getting more and more independent each day. And more and more stubborn too! You know me...I love parties, so let the birthday party planning begin!! Actually...I've been planning for a while, but with only two weeks to go the 'real' planning is underway :) To begin...the perfect invitations of course! Heather Beck over at Ohh Baby Love has helped me with adorable invitations in the past and this year is no exception! My plan is to do a green, yellow and white colored theme party. With a little photo of some ribbon I found she was able to craft a custom invitation for Max's party. Special...just for my little man...because he's just so darn cute!! Of course we had to get the 'thank you's to match! Next time you're planning a special occasion, head over to Ohh Baby Love and see what Heather can craft up for you. She's a pleasure to work with and has great prices too!

West Virginia Wedding
I love doing cakes, but it's especially fun to do a cake for such a special occasion in someone's life! Nerve racking...but fun! This was my second wedding cake and with the trip to West Virginia it took a bit more planning than normal. I tried new pearl molds for the border and got lots of practice making roses from gumpaste. The simple look of this cake with a pop of color was just enough and looked great with the other wedding decor. I hope it was everything the bride wanted! Congratulations Tiffany and Jeff!
Soccer Stud
After a rocky start with soccer games this year, it all 'clicked' for Aiden during his last game. Aiden grasped the idea taking the ball away from the other team and helping his team get the ball down to their goal. He had so much fun and we have even more fun watching him! He even scored a goal!! His reward....ice cream after his game! We can't wait until the next soccer game...it's so much fun watching him grow up!

I Can Dream Can't I??
So...as much as I love my job and appreciate the stability and all from my full time job, I have a dream of staying at home and doing cakes...opening my own shop...being the PTA mom, etc. As much as I dream about it, I'm not brave enough to actually turn it into reality....yet. So...to humor myself I came up with a business name and a business card. Pretty much because I just wanted a cute card to give out :) Maybe some day it will turn into something...but for now it's just a pipe dream. Dreams are good to have though!! When you stop dreaming, you stop living in my opinion! So...here is my 'fake' business card that I think is so cute!! I actually have them printed up, but always forget to hand them out. Oh...and I completely have not checked to see if the name is taken, but since this is just a hobby....I don't think that is a problem???
Have a wonderful day...and don't forget to day dream a little bit :)
Connor's Cruise
Wow!! A lot of babies being born this year! Is it me or is there a baby boom going on? Here's yet another baby shower cake done for a momma to be :) Yummy chocolate cake, buttercream icing and fondant decorations :) I wish I had taken a better picture of the boats from the back, but I must have been a little sleepy that night :) Enjoy the pics!
Komen Cake Donation
As many of you know the Susan G Komen Race for the Cure is right around the corner on May 1, 2010 in Winston-Salem. Go over to www.komennctriad.org to sign up and participate in this year's race. Hanesbrands, Inc. always has a team participate and they also try to put together fundraising events ahead of time also. More money for rearch! This year they had a bake sale in addition to a sample sale for employees. I was asked to donate a cake and was honored to do so! It was a busy week, so I stayed simple but also wanted to have the Komen ribbon on the cake. I hope the person that bought the cake enjoyed it!

Happy Birthday Maddie
Happy Birthday Maddie! It's hard to believe she's already 7! With a little help from her little sis, my sister made this fabulous cake for Maddie's birthday party. It turned out great!!! All fondant with some gumpaste decorations :) Everyone loved it! Girls rock!
Maddie's party was at the gymnastic training center where I used to train. I hadn't been there for years so it was fun going back. They have expanded and have a lot more equipment now! We had a lot of fun, but I realized just how out of shape and old I am!!

Easter Weekend
With the extra time off we loaded up the Pathfinder and headed to WV. It was a busy weekend full of coloring Easter eggs, an egg hunt, cook out with the family, birthday party, WV in the Final Four basketball game (whoo hoo!!) and of course Easter!! We celebrated Easter with our family back at Goshen Baptist Church. It was so nice to see everyone and be back home! We always cram a lot into our trips and are exhausted come Monday morning at work....but its SO worth it! Here are a few pics of the kids this past weekend.
The Godfreys were visiting family in WV also , so they stopped by to join in on the fun!
All the kids picked beautiful flowers for mommy :)
Aiden wouldn't stop for a picture so this is what we got! Running to the next egg he spotted!
